The new autumn/ winter menu has dropped at Pizza Express and it’s awesome!
With a new dishes for veggies, vegans, gluten free and carnivores.
Prawns, prawns, prawns! If you not a seafood fan then this new starter probably isn’t your bag. However, if you are, then this is a delicious way to kick start your meal! The prawns (and there are loads!) are covered in a rich, spicy sauce, bursting with flavour. The dish is complemented by a Pizza Express signature, dough balls (YUM) to mop up all the delicious extra sauce. I would highly recommend this new addition, especially as the nights draw in the and temperature starts to drop.
WAHOO! Winter rum punch has arrived! Produced by Tails, this rum punch has a definite festive feel (74 sleeps!) Made with Bacardi Fuego Rum, cranberry juice, orange juice, lime & bitters served over ice with a slice of orange, this long drink is exceptionally modish. If you’re doing ‘Stoptober’ then why not try the new strawberry Sicilian still lemonade? A strawberry twist on the zesty and refreshing cloudy lemonade, made with real Sicilian lemons. YUM!
Pizza Express has finally added to their vegan range with the new ‘vegan puttanesca romana’ YAY! The vegan puttanesca includes jackfruit, tomatoes, olives, capers, red onion and a vegan mozzarella alternative. It was great to taste the new buzz food, jackfruit, as I head the hype – in my opinion, it tastes a lot like an artichoke – but after a quick Google, it’s apparently from the fig, mulberry, and breadfruit family – who knew!
Welcoming the Ragù Romana! With a rich bolognese sauce, red onion, ricotta, mozzarella, tomato, rosemary, fennel seeds and garlic oil, finished with slow-roasted tomatoes, shaved Gran Milano cheese and fresh parsley this pizza is to die for! I know the description of this pizza is mouth-watering, but can confirm is tastes even better!
If you prefer pasta to pizza, then I would definitely recommend the new Leggera Peperonata – this scrumptious winter warmer is a perfect hibernation hug! Nothing can beat penne pasta baked in a sauce of passata, rosemary, chilli flakes, garlic and roasted mixed peppers, finished with rocket and fresh parsley. Well, maybe the fact that it’s under 600 calories – yes, you read this correctly, under 600 calories!
I literally couldn’t contain myself when I saw that Pizza Express had added Carrot Cake Dolcettt; which is totally VEGAN, (and totally delicious), along with a Lemon Tart & Raspberry Sorbet (no jokes, hands down the best lemon tart I have eaten in an extremely long time) to the desert line-up. I had mentioned to our server, Lisa beforehand that I would only have a taste, due to the fact I was considering undoing the top button of my jeans at this point ? but I managed to snaffle both of them because they were too good to leave!
