Make your mark with prints
This season, there are patterns galore, with everything from leopard print to polka dots, checks and stripes hitting the runway.
For our fashion pages in the autumn/winter issue of Eden magazine, we shot six striking looks, playing with daring combinations such as tweed and alligator print to make a real statement.
Follow us behind the scenes for a sneak peek at our high-street outfits that could totally pass for designer ensembles, and wardrobe inspo that’ll ensure you’re bang on trend.
There’s no doubt that polka dots are having a moment – they’re not only fun and eye-catching, but also super-versatile, bridging the gap between smart and casual.
Experiment by teaming your favourite spotty shirt with a striped skirt or a pair of trousers in a contrasting shade. Tie the look together by accessorising with some patterned jewellery, such as these houndstooth-check earrings from New Look.
Finish with some subtle eye make-up to set off a bold red lip. Check out our seasonal beauty recommendations in Eden magazine – pick up your free copy at the shopping centre.

Leopard print never goes out of style. We’re loving this bold turquoise dress – make it winter-friendly by layering it over a classic black turtleneck and pairing it with some statement boots such as these zebra-print heels from Topshop. The dress’s asymmetric lines and tied waist create a flattering silhouette.
Dress, Next, £40; top, New Look, £9.99; boots, Topshop, £89
Checked scarves and coats are perennial favourites when it comes to A/W style. This time around, why not try out some fashionable paper-bag-waist trousers in bold tartan?
These can be worn with a plain shirt in a warm hue or clashed with a more delicately patterned one, such as this, from Monsoon. Add a bright bag and you’re good to go.
Blouse, Monsoon, £39; trousers, River Island, £42; boots, Topshop, £89; earrings, Marks & Spencer, £9.50; bag, Next, £22
Far from square
Pull together a look that could pass for designer with this tweed Dorothy Perkins skirt, Zara jumper with metallic accents and coat from New Look. Add some silver heels and sparkly socks for a fun, high-fashion look.

Fill your boots
For a subtle take on the trend for all things check and tartan, wear this Zara dress over a ribbed turtleneck, accessorised with some knee-high boots such as these from River Island, in crocodile print. The grey of the top and the pastel tones of the dress create a soft look, but they’re given a real edge by the shiny animal patterning.

Earn your stripes
This gorgeous, multicoloured dress, with diagonal stripes, long ‘bishop’ sleeves and an open back, is right on the money. Throw on some boots, such as these chunky white heels from Schuh, and add a striped handbag to complete the look.
