Boho Bandit

This summer, step out of your comfort zone and experiment with fun patterns and fabrics, say yes to lace and crochet and lightly layer your textures.

The boho-chic trend is nothing new to the fashion industry, but since its peak back in the early 2000s, it’s been a background trend that high street fashion hasn’t paid much attention to; until now. Of course, the global pinnacle of this laid back, summer must-have is uber-fashionable celeb hotspot, Coachella.

For the ultimate in festival wishlisting, hit Instagram to pick out your looks and style yourself to laid-back perfection. Eden is filled with inspo to help you follow in your favourite celebrities’ footsteps: to master the look, simply team a pair of distressed denim shorts (River Island and Topshop are your go-to stores) with a loose-fitting top (try House of Fraser’s huge range) and a large floral headband (Accessorize). And of course, no celeb boho outfit is complete without a killer pair of sunglasses. Stay true to the bohemian theme with this super cute pair from New Look (£7.99).

Now for some Boho basics… The trick to mastering this naturally stylish “I just threw this on” look is not to over think it. When building your outfit, keep it simple and choose neutral colour clothing with big bold patterns. This dress from Next (£28) is perfect as it can be layered with a crochet waistcoat, a silk kimono or a denim jacket.

For the ultimate boho-chic look we recommend this gorgeous waistcoat from Dorothy Perkins (£85).Dorothy Perkins fringe sleeveless jacket £85
The next essential tip for perfecting the look is to remember that you can never have too much fringe. A baggy fringed pair of trousers, like these from River Island (£30), are perfect for wearing casually during the day with a blouse and a pair of sandals or for dressing up at night with a lace crop and a pair of wedges.

But whatever time of day, don’t forget a fringed satchel (House of Fraser, £230)! After all, a splurge on a handbag is a girl’s prerogative.

If patterns and fringe aren’t your thing however, head for a classic wardrobe staple – denim. Throw it back to the 90s in dungarees, a denim dress or anything high-waisted. We adore this little dress from ZARA (£29.99), which is minimalist yet still embraces the festival theme with the large frills and flowy material.

Accessorize your look with a selection of bangles, statement earrings and large stoned rings like these from Topshop (£12.50).

Less is most definitely not more when it comes to jewellery with this trend, so pair your pendants, stack your rings and layer your ankle bracelets, because there is no such thing as over-doing it when it comes to becoming a boho libertine.
