Easy School Run Style

Where have the Summer Holidays gone? They’ve flashed past us and we’re back to school and dare I say it, Autumnal weather around the corner. School runs always seem to prove stressful no matter how much we prepare for them so I’ve drawn together some easy pieces for your wardrobe to ensure you don’t run out of the house feeling dishevelled!

Jeans are a staple, no matter what. Don’t just think about them with flats, go for a slightly tapered/straight/skinny style and wear with a smaller heeled boot. You can roll up the jean to sit just above the ankle boot for a more laid back look. Next always have a great selection for all shapes.

Next Jean

Next Dark Relaxed Skinny Jeans £26

A suede boot does the job of looking relaxed enough for daywear but smarter and warmer than a pump. Make sure you spray them with some protection first but they will look better worn in and aged. A small stocky heel adds some height to elongate legs but it’s still wearable for the school runs.

Jones BM Boots

Jones Bootmaker Lewes Ankle Boots £89

A breton is a classic in all wardrobes – for weekend wear or even a smart/casual look for the office. It immediately add’s that touch of ‘Coco Channel’ without you having to think to hard about it! Make sure you have a variety on hand – black, navy, red and grey are all easy to wear.

H&M Stripe

 H&M Long-Sleeved Stripe Top £7.99

Chino’s are a great trouser to have for pulling on – even if they are slightly creased, they still have that relaxed yet smart look about them. If you find yourself reaching for jeans constantly, they are a casual trouser alternative. Gap always have a selection in a variety of colours. Not just to be worn with a trainer on the school run, they can also be smartened up with a court shoe for a dinner date!

Gap Chinos

Gap Broken-in Straight Khakis £22.99

We all need a flat shoe in our wardrobes but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring one. Why not have some sparkles on your feet for those days when you need a little extra in your life? Don’t be afraid of print or patterns on your feet, it can be a great way to add some character to your outfit.

Office Converse

Office Converse All Star Low Gold Glitter £25

Trench coats are so easy to throw on (they can cover a multitude of sins!) the nip in the waist will add some shape to your outfit. You don’t have to spend a fortune on one if it’s a new style to you, Marks & Spencer have a selection of colours and prices to suit us all.

M&S Trench

M&S Crease Resistant Tipped Belted Mac £45

Denim shirts are perfect to wear tucked in or loose over a more fitted jean. Double denim works well together but don’t forget to try this shirt with some chinos and an animal print belt for an alternate look.

Zara Denim Shirt

Zara Denim Shirt £29.99
