Holiday Wardrobe Staples

Holiday season is upon us and in the rush to finish off any work, pack your belongings and leave the house in a reasonable state, it can be all to easy to forget some of the key items needed for your break. So here is a break down of some of them you will need and where to get them at Eden.

Lets start with swimwear. It’s all about the swimsuit right now – and luckily for us as this can then be used at home more than a bikini (I’m thinking ahead to a nice little spa break here!). Marks & Spencer have a great collection with helpful styles that support us and with features like adjustable straps.

Protect your head and hair – don’t forget a good sun hat! A floppy style is a good bet as this can be packed easily without it coming out too squashed and unwearable at the other end and you get great all round coverage for your head. This one from Next has a bit of a glam feel to it aswell.

With luggage weight now being such a big player, try to think about items that can be worn multiple times and ways. For example a jumpsuit can be worn during the day with flip flops for a day trip or heels in the evening. Look out for a print as this will disguise any spillages that may occur during the day.

Get the right kaftan and you can use this during the evening over a vest and cropped trousers for a laid back boho look. Then wear it over your swimsuit the next day for a cover up, making this another multi use key item to take away with you. This Jane Norman embellished style from House of Fraser fits the bill perfectly.

Shorts go without saying, they are just a given when you are heading to where the sun shines. A cotton style is ideal and Superdry have a variety of colours to cater for every need. This length is perfect for also dressing up for the evening with a pretty cami and some sandals.

Don’t forget that a t-shirt can also be used as a cover up – especially if those shoulders get a little burnt on your first day! A loose style like this one from Zara is perfect and adds a little interest with the subtle animal print. Pack a couple of colours as they are so easy to throw on with shorts and a skirt too. Add some accessories like layering chains for a glam beach-look.

It’s always nice to treat yourself to a new dress for your holidays, for all those meals out that you never get to have when you’re at home and life takes over. House of Fraser have a great selection due to their variety of brands. This Coast dress has that holiday feel with a pop of colour set on a crisp white background. A fuller skirt gives you plenty of room for a good meal out!

Finally, we all need that ‘throw it all in’ bag for our holidays. Something big enough to house all our lotions, magazines and essentials but still having a touch of chic. The pom pom and tassels on this one add just enough chic with a much needed zip closure on a classic canvas bag.
