Family History at the Library

Do you enjoy watching Who Do You think You Are, Family Finders or the Heir Hunters?
Have you ever wanted to do your family tree? A really good place to start is on the 2nd floor of the High Wycombe Library.

They have many different resources and plenty of personal help, all free of charge. The website Ancestry is accessible at the library. If you use it at home the cost is almost £180 per year, but here there is no charge. It is a huge website, that has census from 1841 to 1911, births, deaths and marriages, wills, and military records, just to mention the most popular records. We also have the Parish Records for Buckinghamshire, some of which go back to the 16th Century .

They are on microfilm and the images can be scanned to a USB stick to store on your own PC. Most importantly we have our superb experienced Family History volunteers, who like a challenge, and do their utmost to unravel any knots in your family tree. They are available on Tuesdays from 9.30 till 1.00pm, Wednesday from 10.30 till 1.00, and Thursday from 2.30 till 4.00pm.
