Celebrate Recycle Week with us and make your vote count
Join us at Eden on Friday 18th September from 11am as our Green Series returns with a special one-day activation celebrating local organisations making a positive difference through recycling, reuse and waste reduction.
Located next to Customer Service, the activation will give you the chance to discover three fantastic local causes and cast your vote for the one you would most like to support.
Vote to support local
You’ll find three large glass jars at the activation, each representing a different local organisation, alongside information about their work and projects.
Simply collect a wooden token and place it into the jar of the cause that gets your vote.
As the jars fill up, you’ll be able to see the results take shape in real time. At the end of the day, the organisation with the most votes will receive a monetary donation of £500 to support its work.
Here’s an insight into the three chosen organisations.
Grow Together Bucks is a Wycombe-based community organisation focused on growing people, plants and places. Through its community allotment, school sessions and local events, the team encourages people to grow food sustainably, turn plant waste into compost and become more connected to where their food comes from.
Its work also promotes reducing food waste and helping more people access good food.
Wycombe’s River Wye is an internationally important chalk stream, and Chiltern Rangers brings volunteers of all ages, abilities and backgrounds together to help protect it.
From removing litter and plastics to recycling materials collected from the river and returning abandoned shopping trolleys, the project helps keep the Wye healthy for wildlife and the local community.
Based on Church Street in High Wycombe, Refresh gives unwanted arts, crafts, fabrics, wool, haberdashery and other materials a new lease of life instead of allowing them to go to landfill.
Run by volunteers, the shop champions reuse, recycling and upcycling while supporting local groups, charities and the wider community. Refresh also runs activities including craft sessions, work experience opportunities, workshops, a schools membership scheme and the local Repair Café.
