Silver Monday
This October, we celebrated ‘Silver Sunday’ with a twist.
On Monday 2nd October, we introduced ‘Silver Monday’, our very own version of the national day for older people.
We invited Bucks Older Peoples Action Group, Age UK Buckinghamshire, High Wycombe & District U3A, and local shoppers to join us at Cineworld to enjoy a cream tea and watch a screening of ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’ (2011) completely free of charge.
Our aim for Silver Monday was to help increase the happiness and wellbeing of older people in the local community, and we hope that inviting these groups to our free event exclusively for them will make them feel valued in our society.
You can do your bit in celebrating older people by popping round for a cup of tea with your grandparents or volunteering at one of Buckinghamshire’s charities.
